Chamber Committees

The committee structure is the backbone of the Chamber.  As the saying goes, “committees are where the work gets done!”

Committees depend on the work of volunteering Chamber members to get things done that matter for the community of West Feliciana. Contact us if you would like to volunteer to help in any of the committees listed below. Most of them meet monthly.

Communications

The Chamber’s Communications Committee helps to promote the organization and our members in a variety of publications and outreach. This website and our newsletter are just a few of the examples.

Events

Whether it’s “Business After Hours,” a ribbon cutting to celebrate a new business, or a membership luncheon, you can count on the Events Committee to be on the ball.

Governmental Relations

Keeping an eye towards public policy that affects our members is a top priority for the Chamber.  The Governmental Relations Committee is charged with the responsibility of staying in touch with each of our local governmental bodies as well as our legislative delegation. It  looks for opportunities to suggest positive changes in the way our government operates – especially if it means a better business environment for our members.

Lloyd L. Lindsey Scholarship Committee

For many years, The Greater St. Francisville Chamber of Commerce has endowed college scholarships for graduating seniors residing in West Feliciana Parish.  In 2009, both the committee and the scholarships were renamed in the memorial honor of long-time Superintendent of Schools Mr. Lloyd L. Lindsey. The committee reviews all applications, promotes awareness of the scholarships. Cash awards are given to recipients during commencement exercises each year.

Long Range Planning

The Long Range Planning Committee was formed in 2010 to assist the Board of Directors in shaping a long-term vision and plan for the future.  Growth in membership, assets, finances and importance are all within the committees sights.

Member Services

This committee suggests, reviews and implements board approved member benefits.  The Top 10 Reasons To Be A Chamber Member is a product of this committee’s work and is a great place for new members and prospective members alike to learn more about how becoming a member of the Chamber is positive for you and your business.
