West Feliciana’s Major employers include Entergy’s River Bend Nuclear Power Plant and the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.

The John James Audubon Bridge was opened in 2011. This bridge crosses the Mississippi River, connecting West Feliciana with Pointe Coupee parish. It is currently the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America.
West Feliciana Parish holds much potential for both business and recreation. There are many places to enjoy outdoor activities such as nature photography, bird watching, hiking, biking and canoeing. Hunting and fishing are both a major part of the culture and of the recreational traditions of both locals and visitors.
Just to the norh of St. Francisville, and on the way to Angola, is Clark Creek, a beautiful nature preserve with hiking and biking trails, and Cat Island National Wildlife Refuge, with its National Champion Bald Cypress is also near by.
